Mergehouse is installed by a Shopify merchant to find and merge duplicate customer profiles in their store. This policy describes what the app stores, why, and how it is removed.
For each customer in your store, Mergehouse stores the fields needed to detect duplicates: email, phone, name, and shipping address — normalized for matching, never the full order or payment history. We also store the result of any merge you approve (an audit record), and the list of email addresses you choose to receive the weekly digest.
Customer data is retained for as long as the app is installed. If you uninstall the app, Shopify sends a shop/redact request after 48 hours and we erase everything tied to your store, including the merge audit trail — see "Data deletion" below for the one exception.
Shopify customers can request their data or ask for it to be erased at any time through the store — we respond to both automatically. Merging two customers is permanent and cannot be undone (Shopify's customerMerge has no reverse operation); the record of a completed merge is kept for your support history and is only erased when the whole store uninstalls.
